Ink Drawing experiment/experience
I agreed to have a go at drawing the Kirby Stephen Post office building in ink. As I usually use the ink pens for sketching it was an experience and learning exercise. Work in progress from here.

A visit to Ullswater today didn’t produce any nice landscape pictures but there were some nice fungi.
One young herdy responded to my entreaties to smile for the camera and a chaffinch enjoyed the remnants of my scone.
Prepping for a change of work at the EVAN Gallery in conjunction with the Open exhibition is proving cumbersome after grating my thumbnail on the cheese grater yesterday. Combined with the flu and covid jabs this week, I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself.
Headed for the South of the Ullswater in my Abstracted Poster Style images.
In my Landscape Gallery. Prints and cards available.
Painted the last 2 scottish sketches this week. Then filled up the paint pans ready for the next trip.
As the weather was so good over the last couple of weeks on the Moray Firth there was a lot of walking and photography. However in the quieter evenings the sketch book came out.

Eider Duck and Seal
Top left Fraserburgh Lighthouse. Top Right Fraseburgh Dunes. Bottom left Cairnbulg shore. Bottom Right Cairnbulg Beach.
A visit this evening to the Port Gordon seals ( with full zoom on from a distance to ensure I didn’t disturb them ).
As we approach the end of part 1 of the trip, yesterday we were treated to a stunning sunset. That was after another sky blue beach outing and meeting a local in the harbour.
Another lovely day, so decided to stay in the village. Walked by the harbour where we encountered this Duck. Google search suggests a steamer duck? Native to South America, I am wondering how this is in Aberdeenshire Scotland? Any other suggestions appreciated. Update. I’m informed he’s an Eider Duck in eclipse.
Nice view from the harbour round the shoreline.
Lovely view from the beach to Fraserburgh.
At the North of Ullswater completed. Acrylic on wrapped canvas. This underwent several changes, as you can see from the work in progress.
Added to my Landscape Gallery with cards and prints also available
Enjoyed an outing to Saltburn yesterday. Traditional seaside resort. Fish and chip lunch eaten outside. Fabulous walk along the beach ( with the bonus of sea glass found ). Then a climb back up the 173 steps in the cliff as the Funicular wasn’t working. Not the best of photo days but the beach view from the top was worth a few phone shots.
Looking after lots of visitors in the EVAN Gallery today. Fabulous feedback on the artworks and the vibrant display. Some items are now on their way to the USA (including one of mine).
